Contracts / Business Transactions

Friebert, Finerty & St. John works with companies to protect their interests in contractual and other dealings with other businesses, customers and government entities.

For example, FF&SJ:

  • Counsels lenders and borrowers in structuring, negotiating and documenting construction and permanent mortgage loan financing. For more than 40 years, it has represented the Milwaukee Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), a non-profit, City of Milwaukee-sponsored corporation that offers loan programs in conjunction with local financial institutions. These transactions often involve the purchase of commercial real estate and the purchase of business assets.
  • Represents business and individual lenders in secured and unsecured creditors’ rights matters in bankruptcy and reorganization proceedings, state receivership, foreclosure, out of court workouts and loan restructuring.
  • Represents employers and executive-level employees. The many issues FF&SJ can assist with include representation in civil rights, wrongful discharge and related employment claims; and preparation of non-compete, customer non-solicitation, confidentiality and other restrictive covenant agreements.
  • Provides representation of executives in employment separations. FF&SJ provides counsel and, if necessary, litigation assistance to high-level executive employees who are seeking separation or who have been released.
